The West Taghkanic Diner is located 1.5 miles north of
the entrance for Lake Taghkanic State Park along the
Taconic State Parkway. The next exit after the Park is
the exit for Route 82 (and the Rip Van Winkle Bridge).
When driving north on the Taconic Parkway, bear to the
right as you come around through the circular exit ramp,
turning west onto Route 82. The Diner will be on the left.
The Park, by the way, is open year-round, and camping is
permitted from early May through October (there are tent
and trailer sites, as well as some camping cabins available).
The Lake is famous for it's clean waters & sandy beaches.
For a really old fashioned Summer afternoon, consider a
breezy drive along the scenic Taconic Parkway, and then
try a refreshing old fashioned experience - swimming in
a mountain lake- no chlorine! .. while working-up your
appetite for when you step back in time at the retro
Art Deco classic all-American Taghkanic Diner.
